Kevin Doherty stays for 2010

Shelbourne manager Dermot Keely, this morning, added central defender, and Shelbourne favourite, Kevin Doherty to his squad for the 2010 season.

Player details

Kevin Doherty: Kevin first signed for Shelbourne in July 2001 from Liverpool, where he spent four seasons impressing both Steve Heighway and Gerard Houllier until a broken leg halted his progress.

The 6’4” defender spent four years at Tolka Park before going on a season long loan to Waterford United. Kevin spent the 2006 & 2007 seasons at Flancare Park and at the start of the 2008 season he linked up with Bray Wanderers.

Doherty ‘came home’ to Shelbourne at the start of the 2009 season but was unlucky with injuries which saw him make only 16 league appearances for the season.

This brings the Keely's confirmed signings for the coming season to 14 as he continues to build for the season ahead:- Dean Delany, Steve Williams, Stephen Quigley, Gareth Whelan, Kevin Doherty, Sean Byrne, Robbie Clarke, David Cassidy, David McGill, Paul Shiels, Colin O'Brien, Eric Foley, Dinny Corcoran and Andy Haran.
